Only Way Out Is Through (Part 2 Armor)

Aug 16, 2026    James Stalker

Building on previous weeks' teaching about spiritual warfare, this sermon focuses on the final pieces of the armor of God found in Ephesians 6:16-18 -- the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit, and prayer. The pastor challenges believers to stop relying on past experiences, personal achievements, or comparison with others as the foundation of their spiritual identity. Instead, the armor of God represents posture, not power -- gifts freely received through Christ, not earned through works or personal effort. The sermon calls believers to walk through difficulty rather than around it, embracing the reality of spiritual warfare with confidence in what God has already provided. A soldier does not go around the battle; he goes through it, and in doing so, shows those behind him how it is done.
