Origin Stories

The sermon explored the stories of Adam and Eve, and Cain and Abel from Genesis, examining how humanity's first families struggled with taking responsibility for their actions. From Adam blaming "the woman you gave me" to Eve pointing to the serpent, and ultimately to Cain's jealousy-fueled murder of Abel, we see a pattern of deflecting blame rather than owning our mistakes. These ancient stories serve as mirrors for our own tendencies to avoid responsibility and point fingers elsewhere. The message reminded us that while we have this fallen nature within us, God has given us the Holy Spirit to convict, correct, and guide us toward taking ownership of our actions and bringing them back to Him—not in shame, but in honest confession and transformation.
